Carl Ackerman has produced several instructional programs for The Pacific Lumber Company and The Simpson Paper Company on contractor safety.

In 1996 Shaping 101 was released and was the first program teaching making surfboards with a professional surfboard company. These videos featuring John Carper of JC Hawaii have been selling internationally for over 12 years. Carl Ackerman produced 2 more in the last several years teaching how to make Epoxy surfboards with famous surfer, shaper and epoxy developer Greg Loher of Resin Research.
